Afton Bond
Social Perception | Communications Specialist
Graphic Design | Printing Technology
For Afton Bond, art lives in human connection, shared meals, authentic moments, and the small joys that often slip past unnoticed. Born and raised in the Lewis-Clark Valley, she’s built a life shaped by creativity, community, and intention.
Afton holds a degree in Graphic Design and Printing Technology, and her love of printmaking, painting, and collaging continues to spark new ways of seeing the world. She thrives on projects that bring people together—whether that’s hosting collaborative events or themed parties, helping someone tell their story through a thoughtfully written resume, or curating unique experiences as the communications specialist responsible for scheduling tattoo appointments for Jeremy Wiscombe while ensuring each client feels welcome and inspired.
She also has a soft spot for the art of words: wordplay, poetry, storytelling, and the kind of clever turn of phrase that lingers long after it’s spoken. For Afton, laughter is non-negotiable, whether it comes from a perfectly timed pun, the kind of inside joke that never seems to get old, or an accidental spoonerism. With her ever-changing colorful hair and refusal to commit to a single aesthetic, she’s endlessly adaptable—willing to try anything once and able to connect with just about anyone.
Afton’s happiest moments are often the ones spent with her creative and inspiring 11-year-old. Together, they build a life rooted in intent; finding joy in small rituals, shared projects, and the art of a simple life well-lived. Whether it’s cooking side by side, transforming thrifted furniture and countless houseplants into a living, breathing space, DIYing Halloween costumes, dreaming up new ideas, or just laughing until it hurts, Afton sees her greatest masterpiece not in what she makes, but in the life she’s creating with her daughter Omah, her partner Travis, and those she calls family.

• What kind of art or activity inspires you most?
I’m inspired by the unexpected art of the world. Nature’s little details, genuine people, and the small, sensory moments that make life rich: a creek’s murmur, a familiar scent, the feel of a well-worn texture, the taste of my mom’s Sunday dinner, or my daughter’s captivating smile. It’s in these simple, authentic experiences that my creativity comes alive.
• Who are your favorite artists?
Local creatives, makers I meet through community events, and anyone who can bring intention and personality into their work, whether that’s through words, visual art, or design. Some of those who come to mind are: Jeremy Wiscombe and all the other creatives connected through Hedera; my friend Natalie Anderson who is a talented baker and chef, embroiderer, and crafter; my dad Dave Bond who recently picked up his paintbrush like he never put it down; and of course, my kid who loves to draw, dance, mold clay, explore nature, create memories, and laugh uncontrollably.
• What one piece of art would you own with no limit?
I think I’d just like to have one intentional piece of something, anything, on display in my home that reminds me of my favorite people and why they are so special to me.
• What gets you in the creative mindset?
A nostalgic soundtrack that’s turned up too loud, a good stretch, and a goal.
